WHO AM I?
I blog. Mostly I talk about things I love, things I hate, things I experience and things that I probably have no business talking about. But, there are words on a page, and they’re mine. I love it.
Teaching English is the coolest job in the world. I get to work with high school students, and we get to sarcastically examine literature under the critical microscope of our own pretentiousness.
I run, I do yoga, I lift weights. I’m always trying to get fit and set a good example for my husband and kid. But also, I love moving and challenging myself to new things.
Ya’ll, it’s not going so well. In January, right around the birth of this blog, I sat down and mind-mapped a bit (I will post on this concept later, I love it). I wanted to be more goal oriented, especially with the fact that this is the year I turn 30...read more
I don’t know if any of you ever struggle with this, but my brain loves to talk me out of things that make me happy. It’s this weird, self-destructive tick that I have; I just can’t help myself! Take working out, for example: when I met Justin, I was...read more

If you were to watch any of the multiple VHS tapes of my childhood, you would see me in a variety of attention-seeking moments. It’s possible you’d see me singing a Reba McEntire song for a talent show, or performing a skit on camera, even filming my own...read more
Ya’ll…it’s been too long. This post will serve as evidence that I am a mere mortal, just a normal almost-30 woman with a limit. I can handle grading research papers. I can handle having two Student Council events back to back. I can handle getting...read more
I spent most of my adolescent life claiming to be a girl who didn’t really “have girlfriends.” Chalk it up to the fact that I was an athlete, or I wasn’t into the party scene, or whatever it was…but I mostly related to guys. I tried...read more
